SORRY!! Been so long since I have been on here. Was busy with projects at Uni and that. They  did not go well but hopefully can sort things out when I get back after Christmas!!

2nd Editorial project.

Here's my second Illustration for my editorial project.

It's okay but feel I could do better and the proportions are a bit off so that annoyed me.

Got till november on these Illustration projects and then looking forward to see whats in store after that.

I have just realised though what my schedule is basically like at the moment. Or for a better word the things that take up most of my time at the moment.

1. Sense of Belonging project: composed of 3 final pieces.

2. Creative writing projects, get a different one each week.

3. Avebury comic.

4. Contextual studies assignments.

5. Work (retail)

6. Work (retail) over time, as I need money bad.

Also I do have a few days where I get all "OMG I CANNOT BE FUCKED" and just mong out in bed or just generally be lazy all day long aka procrastination. 

gah really need to crack on as this is getting on top of me now :P

Oooooh long time no see!!

Ooooo been a while since I have blogged on here.

Been a bit busy with returning to University. Working on a few good projects at the moment for some of my classes. Will post up work from it soon!

Other than that I have been working at my part time job, which is in retail. Hopefully wont be there too long as I want to get into the Illustration business. Got another year of fun at uni and work then I can start doing the hardcore stuff.

Another sketchbook dump.

I don't think my sketches could ever get published into a sketchbook.... they are too random and tend to be all over the place with no consistency. Just tend to sketch when I am bored really.... or if I have a sketchbook with me when I am out and about.

Writing this comic is a pain.

Ooookay, I have been set a project over the summer by my tutors for my Degree. It is to tell a short story comic based within the small village of Avebury, Wiltshire.... MY god though it has been difficult to write something. Originally I wanted to use this project as to write a small side story to my CONDUIT comic I am writing but that proved futile. No matter how many times I tried to write it I could not get something right or it just would not seem to flow or be working.

I think the problem was is that I was trying to write a story about characters that I have not established yet myself. So in the end I had a quick look at stories that surround Avebury and found one of interest.

The story goes that a couple lived in the now Red Lion Inn (the only pub/guest house in Avebury) and the husband was sent away to fight in the Civil War. The wife ended up taking a lover and upon the husbands unexpected return he finds the wife in bed with her lover. So what does the husband do? Kills the lover and cuts his wife's throat and chucks her down a well that is now in the Red Lion Inn (located in the dinning area) and the husband sealed it with a boulder.

So I am going to do a comic based on her ghost in modern Avebury.

Here is the character design I have for the ghost, who's name is Florrie.

Passion for some fashion

Excuse the corny title... haha. I am such a bad Blooger, I dunno why I have not been keeping up with it. Anyhoo the image below is something I wanted to try out. I wanted to have a go at Graphic design sort of work. So I looked around and I realised I'd like to have a go at some fashion commercial Illustration just get a feel or an idea of it. So I ended up creating this. Using a hand rendered Graphic Design style background, I hand drew the woman and everything else was done in photoshop.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out as its my first time doing anything remotely commercial based and I actually enjoyed it. Might do a Male version next and then go on to something else hahaha

A couple of images I created.

The second one is from a series of 4 Images I am working on based on the idea of breaking StereoTypes or resistance against stereotypes as it were. Its based on the D&AD brief so once I have coloured it I will put the magazine logo on the image and some titles work to make it look like a series of Magazine covers.

Going to colour them in Photoshop, just got to get a decent tablet haha.

Business card update.

Okay here is what might be the final version of my Business card.

I'll probably change this come my third year haha Once I actually start PPD section of my degree.

Relaxing day and random ideas i get during the day lol.

This is just one of my wafty wuick ideas I had today of what my Business card could look like. The contact details would be on the back of it.

I created that logo in inspiration of Ben Templesmith but also I too wanted to have something that represented me. The squares around the letter and circle show my interest in Magic and Wicca. The 'runes' around the magic circle basically spell out the rest of my name...

Yea today has been relaxing, just bummed about finishing reading one of the Dresden files books by Jim Butcher. Took the dog for a walk aswell..... spent money on more dresden books and a bunch of art materials from dinkybox. They are such a good website for Japanese Comic stationary which can also be used for general comic book work aswell. As they have B4 and A4 size layout paper aswell.

I really should get back into drawing like I said I was going to do everyday over the summer but been lazy recently lmao

Park and pub!

Well since recently we have been blessed with lovely weather, I called on Connie to meet me at the local park for some relaxation and sunbathing... Which naturally ended up with a few drinks in the pub! HAHA

So I also thought it would be a good opportunity to sketch some people as I really need to practice that a lot more. So here are some of the ones I did:

O noes lol Aint been much of a blogger recently, which is bad!! I really should try and get into regular updates! I think its one of those cases where I think do people actually read this?

Anyway! I have been super busy with my projects at Uni recently. I got my essay handed in after stressing over it for weeks and thinking it be the clever idea of doing it the night before! Ooooo special fool!! I know have a week to make a 16 page screen printed book! Oh fun! Not lol All year we have been doing perception projects and looking at ourselves for inspiration but to be honest I find myself a bit of a boring nut job really! HAHAHA

Anyway thought I would treat you all to my filth of random art work I do when I am super bored and just want to have fun.

The first is an image I made based on a real town called "Slaggyford" in the UK.... Brilliant!


The next one is just a thing that happened between me and my mate so I decided it be funny to make a poster of it.

Random thought of the Day

Wished I had more friends who actually worked in the Illustration business....... Yea weird I know but it would be really cool as I could turn to them for advice and then I can be like for example "oooh yea I'm friends with Ben Templesmith!" LMAO

Also I really need to develop myself more as an artist! It's a pain as there are so many things I feel I cannot draw but still do not try and draw.... Annoying as it is lmao.

Well I shall start of on good note! I have finally finished my Journal project!! YAY lol

Dirty thing it is!! I am not 100% pleased with it as I could of done a lot better.... my own fault really as I never planned my time properly. The final product is not 100% the way I had envisioned it. But I have other projects I really need to be getting on with so now I am going to make a start on those.

Yes the reason I am annoyed lol Well for a while now me and a mate of mine have been getting our wires crossed as it were and haven't spoken for ages. Basically one thought the other had a problem with them and the same vice versa. So we never spoke for a long time.... we had such a great chat one night on our way home that we sorted stuff out and I thought it was back to the way things were before all this crap happened. But he'll do things like give me a really awkward look or ignore my texts if I ask him if he wants to hang out or go into town but message my classmate (who is also my housemate) that he is bored or has returned to Swindon from being at home in Reading.....

And i wind myself up about it all and think like what the fuck was that chat about then? Gah he has been the cause of all my down spiralling moods this year that I really have had enough.

Yea I know I am probably reading too much into things but at the same time I guess it happens when you get attached to someone and then you feel ignored. Plus it don't help that all I have is a small group of people I know here in Swindon..... Gah I wanna go back to London!!

Had my assessments back from the first (and last) project I have had from the tutor that is meant to be teaching us how to draw and create comics....

Well i got a third, which is a really low pass.

Was well disappointed as in his notes he never really gave criticism or anything but just bashed my art work. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he gave me some good points but nothing major special.....

He basically said I need to learn how to draw, fall in love with drawing and do it everyday. Work on my own style and be original...... the problem is I have no idea how to do that.

Now I am so self conscious about what i am drawing that I am actually scared to draw anything for my other projects!!

That's all I have to say at the moment as I am kinda tired from lack of sleep.

Hello all..... or no one haha!

Hmmmmmm well I thought I would start a new blog as I am currently in a new chapter of my life.... and it would be cool if a few years down the line I have the job I want and then look back on this and think...... "What a fucking idiot" *laughs*

I had a live journal for many years now but sort of got bored of it so now I thought new life, new start...... new blog haha.

You know it's taken me a good few minutes to actually think about what to write? I mean where do I start?? mmm Probably the best thing is at the beginning (not from birth haha).

My name is Fred, I am currently 21 years of age and a confused individual. I am probably one of the most crudest people you will ever meet, I do not mean to be in a bad way. It's just the jokes and things I make can be a tad vulgar I suppose. I think if I was to have an autobiography when I am an old grumpy man I think I would title it 'Still Vulgar'.

.... where was I? ..... Oh yes!

I was a student of Japanese language for a good 3 years. Only part time, once a week on a Saturday. I have taken and passed the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) at level 4. I really wish to continue the study of the language as it be silly to forget and I like it...

I am originally from South East London, Bexleyheath!! I am currently taking up residence in Swindon as I am doing a degree in Sequential Illustration....

Yes I can hear you all now..... "Why SWINDON!?"

I am not sure really but we get our degree from Oxford Brookes when we pass anyway so meh I don't care where the course is held anymore. I did for a while and I noticed the atmosphere in the class take a massive nose dive because of it, but things seem to be picking up again.

...... Now we are coming close to getting the rest of our loans!

I am enjoying the course so far, once I get to grips with using this site I'll add artwork I have done and that as well.

Well I am not sure what else to write..... I'll maybe fill in this blog once a week or every few days or so. Every day is a tad much I think lol
